With the beginning of the renovation of the old city, the immersed pipe piles and prefabricated piles originally constructed in the 1970s and 1980s will become important factors affecting the normal progress of construction. The treatment of the original existed foundation piles has become an important topic in the field of geotechnical construction. The Super Top construction method provides a new and effective treatment method.
The Super Top construction method (rotating drilling type steel casing method) is casing rotator that utilizes the downward pressure and torque generated by the full rotation equipment to drive the steel casing to rotate, utilizes the cutting action of the high-strength cutting head at the pipe orifice on the soil, drills the casing into the ground, and then uses the grab claw to remove the obstacles inside the casing.
The main methods for treating the Existed foundation with this equipment are as follows:
Method 1: Use this equipment to cover the existed foundation in the pipe, then use a heavy hammer to smash it, and finally use a grab to grab it out.
Method 2: Use this equipment to cover the existed foundation in a pipe, use a high-pressure water gun to crush the soil around the pile, then drive a long triangular steel wedge to fix the existed pile, rotate the casing, twist the pile, and finally use a punch and grab to take out the section of pile until the treatment is completed.
Method 3: Using this equipment, the existed foundation is sheathed in the pipe, and a multi support shoe crusher is placed in the casing. The structural design pressure of the multi support shoe is used to adsorb on the inner wall of the casing. Then, the casing rotary downward pressure is used to drive the multi support shoe crusher to drill and break the pile.

This construction method is known as the “universal construction method” in Japan. The equipment can achieve 1/500 verticality and can cut high-strength rock and reinforced concrete, providing new solutions to new problems encountered in geotechnical construction.
