Sinovo’s SM75 multi-purpose hydraulic-driven geotechnical drill rig is engineered to meet the demanding requirements of modern site investigation and ground engineering. Built on a robust track chassis, the unit integrates rotary and percussion/RC drilling capabilities into a single, highly maneuverable platform.
At the heart of the SM75 is a compact, foldable/telescopic rotary mast, complemented by a side-by-side, slidably positioned SPT percussion mast. The rig delivers impressive core drilling capacities of up to 400m for BQ, 300m for NQ, and 80m for HQ, powered by a 75kW water-cooled turbocharged engine. It offers a maximum torque of 4,000 Nm, a rotary head speed of 0–1,200 rpm, and a pull-up force of 130 kN. The hydraulic winch accommodates 400m of wireline, while the hydraulic clamps provide a clamping force of 13,000 kg.
Key operational features include a telescopic mast system compatible with 1.5–3m drill rods, and a remote-controlled crawler chassis for walking, lifting, and leveling—ensuring effortless positioning even with multiple tools loaded. The automated Standard Penetration Test (SPT) system supports sampling depths up to 50m and SPT layer depths exceeding 20m, achieving a hammering frequency of 50 times/min with instant automatic recording. The soil sampling system preserves the original state of soil samples during SPT and gravity survey tests.
Internationally, the SM75 has been deployed across a wide range of scenarios, including geotechnical investigation, geothermal resource development, mineral exploration, and pre-construction site assessment for infrastructure projects. In soft-soil regions of Southeast Asia, the rig’s automated SPT system and undisturbed sampling capability have effectively improved the efficiency of collecting stratified soil parameters. In the arid and hard-rock sites of the Middle East and Africa, its ability to rapidly switch between rotary and percussion drilling modes has reduced equipment relocation time and lowered overall operating costs. Field feedback from overseas operators indicates that the SM75 demonstrates excellent maneuverability in confined urban sites and complex terrain, with the remote-controlled crawler chassis enabling precise positioning even with multiple tools on board. The stability and instant recording functions of the automated SPT data acquisition significantly reduce manual recording errors and enhance the traceability of test data. Meanwhile, users widely recognize the rig’s seamless switching capability among core drilling, soil drilling, and wireline drilling. Combined with optional mud pumps, mud mixing systems, and RC reverse circulation systems, the SM75 can cover multiple investigation processes on a single platform, providing global exploration contractors with an integrated, cost-effective operational solution.
